Instructional Design

Working in a group, we redesigned a series of instructions for a simple Lego creation. We researched the learning theories that apply to children, the ways in which they interpret symbols and the educational value of play.

Using skeuomorphism, we illustrated the lego pieces as they would appear and arranged them in the order they needed to be assemble. Research-based improvements were made to the original design and results proved positive with focus groups and surveys.
Comparisons were presented between the original and improved versions of the instruction booklet.
Illustrations were made to accompany information using the Lego pieces and assembled crocodile.
